Clare Napper
SHORT DOCUMENTARY
Clare Napper, a British artist and entrepreneur, has called Dubai home for more than a decade. In this short documentary film, she talks about how the Highlife Dubai brand came to life, her inspiration, and her creative process.
Short documentary films are a perfect storytelling medium. Due to their length, a tighter edit and more structured storyline is essential.
More importantly, the key to an effective short documentary film is through research during pre-production to find that deeper story people will connect with.
Artists at Large is a non-profit initiative based in Dubai, with the aim of promoting emerging artists in the region.

Rooam
The one minute promo
PROMOTIONAL FILM
Rooam is an innovative mobile app that allows you to place your food and drink order, split the bill, tip, and securely pay, all within the app.
Promotional films are effective if they quickly establish what the product is, its features, its benefits, and some examples of usage.
For the Rooam mobile app promo film, we had to shoot in a half a day and have a quick edit that walked through the process of ordering and closing a tab.
Since Rooam offers a seamless and secure way to pay, we had to highlight that no credit card exchanged hands, and there was no need to wait for a server to close.

soullava
From lookbooks to
promo videos
CREATIVE DIRECTION
soullava is a Dubai based street wear brand with a Japanese inspired design aesthetic, and a motto to always do what ignites your soul.
The good folks over at soullava wanted to create a campaign to highlight the brand’s connection to skateboarding. Their desire was to generate creative centered around a local skateboarder and influencer.
On the Yacht Films owned the entire creative direction on the project. We worked to bring on Dubai based skateboarder Karim Nassar (@nawstyk) and local photographer Ghassan Luqman (@lughass) to develop a campaign lookbook.
We also created promo videos focused on social media distribution, utilizing behind the scenes footage, such as the vertical format video above.
